Famous Mountain Climbers
87There are some activities in the world that have no limits, no bound no ends. These activities are extreme in any definition and people perform all these activities just to satisfy the adventurous nature of them. Many of the people do extreme things professionally and today most of the professional and famous sports are really extreme.
There are also a good bunch of people who like doing all this just for fun like, all the underground skating or racing thing, here no safety rules are followed and they just do all these things for fun or for fighting out a challenge.
But one famous, extreme and professional sport is mountain climbing which again has no limits no ends and if you are a mountain climber and you are at the top of a mountain, there always will be a lust for reaching a new goal a new summit and a new record.
That is how most mountain climbers take part in this famous sport. Here I won’t be talking much about how mountain climbers feel or how they climb mountains, because I personally have never even climbed a small cliff. The thing that I will inform you below is about some of the famous climbers who risked their lives to set new records and did extreme things without worrying about the dangers involved.
Sir Edmund Hillary
Sir Edmund Hillary was born in the year 1919 and today he is on of the most famous mountain climber known to people. The reason for such fame is justified as he was the first person ever to reach the top of the mightiest mountain on the planet Earth i.e. Mount Everest.
He was part of a British expedition that came to the place to achieve to dream of conquering Mount Everest and Edmund Hillary made this dream come true along with Tenzing Norgay. They conquered the summit on 29 May 1953. After Mount Everest Hillary continued with his expeditions and later visited more of the Himalayan peak.
Tenzing Norgay
Tenzing Norgay was born in 1914; he is famous with the name Tenzing Sherpa. He was a Nepalese mountaineer who took part in the1953 Mount Everest expedition. He is second to Edmund Hillary in being the most famous mountaineer and in setting the mightiest record. He was the person who along with Sir Edmund Hillary reached to the top of the Mount Everest.
But later on in one of his interviews he brought to light that Edmund Hillary was the first one to set foot on the highest point on Earth. However both Edmund Hillary and Tenzing always mentioned this record to be the result of team work.
Achille Compagnoni & Lino Lacedelli
Although these climbers are not very famous unlike the two mentioned above, yet they have a special place in this list as they are the ones who conquered the second highest peak in the world i.e. K2. They are also special mountaineers as K2 is considered to be a very difficult summit to reach. The peak is also famous with the name SavageMountain. Earlier many other attempts had been made to reach the summit but due to the difficulty many people failed or lost their lives.
These two mountaineers were the part of an Italian expedition and reached the second highest summit on July 31, 1954. K2 is far more difficult to climb than any other mountain on Earth and these were the two extreme people who made it possible.
Junko Tabei
Junko Tabei is a Japanese mountaineer who was born in 1939. She also has special place in the list of famous climbers as she is the first women to reach the highest summit on Earth. She reached at the top of Mount Everest on May 16, 1975. She was selected as a part of a woman team to take on the challenge of climbing Mount Everest.
Despite all the difficulties she faced during the expedition she came out as a strong woman and completed the expedition successfully. Tabei is also famous as she is the first woman to complete the Seven Summits.
Reinhold Messner
This extreme mountaineer was born in 1944. He is also one of the most famous mountaineers of all time as he holds some of the most extreme records. He holds the record to make the first ever solo ascent to Mount Everest. During this solo climb he also made an extreme record which is climbing the Everest without any supplemental oxygen.
He also holds the record for being the first mountaineer to climb all the fourteen 8000 meters higher mountains.
There are many other mountaineers who have made countless records and there is an endless list. But here in this article I have only mentioned the most renowned record holders who made it possible after which others followed their lead.

I am so proud of all of these climbers.They set a goal and they reached it. Using teamwork, problem solving, and planning ahead really contributed to their success. One of the most important contributions is that that they were determined to summit. They believed in themselves and that is something that is motivating me to reach my goals.
